Deroche, BC, Canada – Little Flower Monastery, located on Carmel Hill in Deroche, Vancouver, proudly announced the launch of its new website, designed and developed by Fr. Stephen Lobo OCD. The initiative was spearheaded by Rev. Dr. Rudolf V. D’Souza OCD, the President of the Canadian Carmelite Charitable Society and a dedicated leader of the Carmelite Fathers in Canada. The Webiste was inaugurated in the presence of Rev. Fr. Jerome Moras OCD and Fr Frank Sharma OCD.
The monastery, run by the Canadian Carmelite Friars of the Karnataka-Goa OCD Province, India, under the leadership of Provincial Superior Rev. Fr. Silvestre D’Souza OCD and Delegate Provincial Rev. Fr. Alexandar Braganza OCD. serves as a vibrant spiritual retreat center. The project of the Little Flower Monastery was made possible through the generosity of benefactor Helen Chua Tiampo, who sponsored the property and construction.
During the launch, Fr. Rudolf expressed his gratitude to Rev. Fr. Stephen Lobo OCD for his innovative design and dedication to creating a user-friendly, responsive website. “This website will help us better connect with the faithful, allowing them to register for retreats and spiritual activities with ease,” said Fr. Rudolf.
Fr. Stephen thanked Fr. Rudolf and the administrative team for entrusting him with the project. “It is a privilege to contribute to the mission of Little Flower Monastery and help expand its reach,” he said. He also acknowledged the support of the community members, Fr. Vincent D’Souza OCD, Superior, and Fr. Mario Fernandes OCD, Director, for their untiring assistance in bringing the project to fruition.
Little Flower Monastery features 18 self-contained rooms with 45 beds, three furnished suites, and a multipurpose hall accommodating up to 350 guests. The monastery also offers a serene Way of the Cross trail, guided retreats, youth animation programs, Family Retreats and counseling sessions.
