Catholic Pacific College Students Find Spiritual Renewal at Little Flower Monastery

Students from Catholic Pacific College, Vancouver, recently gathered at Little Flower Monastery, Carmel Hill, Deroche, BC, for a retreat that proved to be a profound blessing. The weekend offered an opportunity for the students to step away from their daily routines and dive into an atmosphere of spiritual renewal, prayer, and community-building.

One of the standout features of the retreat was the constant presence of the Blessed Sacrament, which created a sense of deep reverence and connection to Christ. Each evening, the students participated in Eucharistic Adoration, offering them personal moments of prayer and reflection in the presence of the Lord. For many, this was a spiritual highlight, helping them to draw closer to God and rediscover the power of stillness in His presence.

The retreat also provided a space for communal growth. Living together in a peaceful and secluded environment, students formed stronger bonds with one another, sharing their experiences and supporting each other in faith. The beautiful natural surroundings of the monastery, with its serene landscapes and quiet atmosphere, helped create a sense of belonging and peace, leading many students to describe the experience as “living in a home.”

The retreat left a deep impact on the participants, allowing them to return with renewed energy and a deeper sense of their faith journey, both individually and as a community.

Special thanks were also extended to Fr. Vincent Dsouza OCD, superior of the monastery, and Fr. Stephen Lobo OCD, Assistant Director, whose presence and assistance contributed to the success of the camp.
